This is one of those Thai restaurants attached to a pub. The staff are nice and dress authentically. The restaurant is also nicely decorated. Food is good, well at least what I have had. Don't be put off by the location.
After great reviews and knowing locals I was disappointed. Soup flavourless hot and lacking content, stir fry had little if any hint of any traditional Thai spices and was more like an average Chinese takeway. Good content but little flavor. Nonetheless friendly and welcoming, just not what I expect from a Thai

We have never visited Hickory's Smoke House before, we were very impressed when we went for breakfast on Sunday. There is a large car park with ample spaces and the exterior of the building looks like it was built to a high standard. Upon entering we were greeted with a smile. We were given a mini tour of the restaurant that included a cinema showing various films throughout the day, a court yard with two table tennis tables and other bar games, a cocktail bar and an outdoor seating area. We had a cup of Joe filter coffee with unlimited refills, Hickory's pancake stack with Blueberry compote & cream and the full English breakfast. The coffee was made with a perfect t blend of beans. The pancake stack was served with a large portion of blueberry compote. The full English was delicious, cooked to perfection and was a perfect portion size. It was so good at Hickory's Smokehouse that I have booked dinner there.
Having never been before, I wasn't sure what to expect, we went Friday lunch time as part of a date day. As we parked up the smell was amazing, we walked in and it was busy, a lady came up to us and took us to our table, then water and popcorn was brought over. My 19 month old was with us and they brought a highchair and a balloon over then write his name on it. Starting to feel impressed we began to order, the menu was discussed by our waitress and we made our order, and boy o boy was it tasty, it really really was amazingly good. They came to our table to check if everything was okay, they bantered with my son who kept giggling. I would highly highly recommend. Wasn't too pricey, not cheap but seemed a fair price for how good it was. I will most certainly return. 6 stars if I could. Thank you hickory team, you made our date day especially amazing as we don't get out often.

Had a great meal on a saturday. A group of 18 9 picked meals and 9 picked carvery and we were told as the food is cooked fresh it would be a twenty minute wait but as we we had 9 carvery we gave it 5 minutes and went up. Food was hot and well cooked carvery is pork gammon and beef we were told chicken can be cooked to order as well. Vegetables a plenty with condiments next we all ate and enjoyed and very full after. £5.50 for a carvery no wonder this place is busy. We will be going again
Breakfast is amazing, especially the sausages. A little slow to clear tables but would recommend.
